Yesterday, I said goodbye to the place that was my home for the past two years. It was bittersweet knowing that I wouldn't be able to get my peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake from the cyber cafe (side note: if you haven't gotten one, you need to reevaluate your life), or hang out in the chapter room until 3 in the morning, or make music with my friends for the next 4 months. The next time I would be back at Baldwin Wallace, there would be snow on the ground (probably a lot of snow). I won't be able to have pillow talk and brush my teeth with my best friend every night. But for every thing it seems like I'll be missing out on, I'll gain a new experience. For every milkshake I am missing out on, I'll be eating gelato at a cafe somewhere. Instead of endless hours of conversation in the chapter room, I'll be speaking (very poorly spoken) Italian with my host family. Instead of making music with my friends, I'll be discovering the music and art that Siena has to offer. And although I'll really miss teeth brushing and pillow talk every night, when I get back, I'm sure things will continue just like I never even left.
BW is a really special place filled with really special people. It's sad to have to say goodbye but as they say, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". So see ya soon BW!
Also, make sure to have a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake for me.
